Strategic Solutions
Embedded with the sponsor. Backed by TFS.
Individuals and whole functional teams, matched to the work where they deliver the greatest impact. The variety of consulting with the stability of one employer.
The model
Work in their team. Grow in ours.
Sponsors need experienced people faster than they can hire them. Strategic Solutions is how they get ours, in four ways.
Functional Service Provider
A TFS managed functional team, in monitoring, data management or safety, delivering a whole service inside one sponsor’s programme.
Single services
One specialist service, such as pharmacovigilance and safety or medical writing, delivered by TFS experts for a sponsor.
Project placements
Short and long term assignments matched to your skills, goals and preferred level of stability.
Permanent placement
We recruit you directly into a permanent role with one of our clients, and you join their organisation as their employee.
The expertise
The expertise sponsors ask us for.
These are some example roles, from early career to principal level. We cover many more across the life science industry.
Clinical Monitoring
CRAs at every level, site facing and sponsor embedded, in the countries where the patients are.
Clinical Project Management
CTMs and project managers who run the sponsor’s studies as if they were their own, because for the assignment, they are.
Data Management and Biostatistics
Data managers, biostatisticians and statistical programmers, solo or as a full FSP function.
Medical Writing
Protocols, CSRs and submission documents in the sponsor’s voice, to the sponsor’s deadline.
Regulatory Affairs
Submission and lifecycle support across agencies and ethics committees worldwide.
Pharmacovigilance and Safety
Case processing, signal management and safety physicians, embedded or as a managed service.
Quality Assurance
Auditors and QA specialists who keep sites, systems and vendors inspection ready, to GCP and the sponsor’s own standards.
Real World Evidence
Observational studies, registries and real world data analysis that show how treatments perform outside the trial.
Medical Affairs
Medical advisors and medical science liaisons who connect the science with the clinicians who use it.
Working as an independent consultant?
Consultants work across both sides of TFS: embedded Strategic Solutions placements with a sponsor, and Clinical Development Services project work on our own studies. Apply to any open role that fits and tell us you are looking for contract work.

Good questions
Questions we get asked a lot.
Who employs me, TFS or the client?
It depends on the model. In FSP teams and single services, TFS is your employer: your salary, benefits, development and line manager stay with us while you work in the client’s team. With a permanent placement, we recruit you directly into the client organisation and you become their employee. We always say which it is up front.
What happens when an assignment ends?
Your TFS line manager is working on the next match before the current one closes, across clients, therapeutic areas and ways of working. The regular check ins are not a formality; they are how we plan your path.
Is Strategic Solutions only for senior specialists?
No. Assignments range from early career to principal level. Early on, Strategic Solutions is one of the fastest ways to see multiple sponsors, systems and indications, with TFS training and support behind you.
Can I move into Clinical Development Services later, or back?
Yes. Moving between full service and FSP is part of how careers grow at TFS. Clinical Development Services and Strategic Solutions are two rhythms of the same company, not two companies.
I work as an independent consultant. Is there a place for me?
Yes. Consultants work across both sides of TFS: embedded Strategic Solutions placements with a sponsor, and Clinical Development Services project work on our own studies. Apply to any open role that fits and tell us you are looking for contract work, and we will keep you in mind as new projects start.
Your expertise, exactly where it is needed.
Flexibility, growth and purpose, with a team that has your back on every assignment.
